Project meeting in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv

Posted by Tom Václavík

From 8th to 10th of October UARD hosted the fourth partner meeting of the SusCooks project.

Agenda of the meeting

The agenda included finalization of WP3 "Transfer of print versions of learning materials into English eLearning course”, development of work plan and road map for WP4 Adaptation of course and eLearning to partner countries” and introduction into WP5 “Testing the course and materials in all partner countries”.

Immediately prior the meeting project was presented to scholars, students and practitioners during the international conference organized by UARD.

Information about Plovdiv

Only recently has Plovdiv been named European Capital of Culture for 2019! Specialized edition of Lonely Planet described it as the sixth best city in the world to be visited in 2015. Lonely Planet: One of Europe’s most beautiful Old Towns, a backdrop of the Rhodope Mountains, historical treasures, smouldering nightlife. There’s a wealth of reasons to explore Plovdiv, but recent decades have polished Bulgaria’s second city. Its remarkable ruins (including a Roman theatre in the centre of the shopping precinct) were slowly excavated throughout the 1970s and ’80s. And throughout the 2000s, heritage buildings left to gather dust have been lovingly restored into museums, restaurants and hotels.

We believe that much of this was seen and felt by our partners from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and the Czech Republic. The restaurants that we visited are partners of the meeting host, the UARD University, in the Tourism Council in Plovdiv: MegdanaOdeon and Salt&Pepper.
